Big Bear Lake, CA
It's a summer tradition in Big Bear - the annual Home Tour, sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley. Each year on the last Saturday in June, several families generously open the doors of their homes and allow the public to view their unique mountain retreats.
All proceeds from the Home Tour go directly to Soroptimist community service projects right here in the Big Bear Valley.
Tickets will be available at INTERIORS beginning in mid-May.
Here's a sneak peek at one of the homes on the 2013 Home Tour:
You'll step into a bit of Big Bear history when you view this outstanding lakefront home - but you might not know it, when you see the results of a painstaking and thoughtful renovation. Once known as "Holiday Lodge," this residence has been converted into a luxury retreat by the current owners. Hints of the old Lodge remain, most notably in the rooflines and extensive native stonework that includes an original fireplace. It features a stunning gourmet's kitchen with custom cabinetry, gorgeous hardwood floors, and miles of granite countertops. And just wait until you see the master suite!

This log masterpiece was featured on the 2012 Home Tour:
Located in upscale Meadowbrook Estates, this gorgeous custom log home was built by Brad Lindley of Lindley Log Homes, and expresses Lodge-style on a grand scale. From the imposing porte-cochere entry you are welcomed into the living room with an impressive two-story glass prow and custom rock fireplace.
The incomparable chef's kitchen features cabinetry with hand-carved details by local master craftsman Shannon Seaman of Seaman Door and cabinet.
The home is furnished with Lodge-style decor including custom hickory dining chairs and beds, leather and nailhead upholstered pieces, rustic art and accessories, and plenty of custom taxidermy for a real "mountain lodge" feel.
